Richard & Pamela Smoak

Missions Organization:
United Pentecostal Church

Location:
Tanzania

Description
Richard and Pamela Smoak, former Associates In Missions in Kenya and alumni of Jackson College of Ministries, received their appointment as United Pentecostal Church missionaries to Tanzania in October 1988. Brother Smoak was the assistant pastor of the United Pentecostal Church of Bossier City, Louisiana, at the time of their appointment.

In Tanzania, Brother Smoak coordinates the Bible school and regional ministerial training programs and travels extensively to strengthen the churches. Twenty-six percent of the population of the African Region speaks Swahili. Therefore literature translation into Swahili must be a major priority. The Smoak's are cooperating with other missionaries in the region to develop and translate training materials, evangelism and doctrinal literature, and new convert courses in Swahili for mass production.
